The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Knox, Cedar, Thurston, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Platte, Monona, Colfax, Dodge, Washington, Butler, Saunders, Douglas, Sarpy, Harrison, Shelby, Seward, Lancaster, Cass, Otoe, Pottawattamie, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, and Page Counties. * TIMING...From 10 AM Monday morning through 8 PM Monday evening. * WINDS...In the late morning hours, sustained Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph. In the afternoon, west winds sustained 15 to 25 mph with gusts 25 to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 to 16 percent across the entire area. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning should be avoided. Information: A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
